Today Dr. Neato wasn't here so the only teachers were Mr. Miller and a substitute. Both of them didn't have the keys to the storage room with our longboards, so everyone who had stored their longboards there were screwed for the period. Since I had been working on the storage units at the same time as my longboard, I, at least, had something to do for the period. We finished cutting out all of the pieces for the smaller storage unit, and then started to make the notches and stuff to make everything fit together. Hopefully, we can finish by tommorow, buy screws buring one of our lunches, and finish the assembly of the smaller shelf by the end of Wednesday.
Today we finished notching out all of the pieces and whatnot, and managed to start building the frame. During lunch, I got money from Dr. Neato to go to OSH and get a couple boxes of screws, so it should be smooth sailing from hereon out. I am starting to get worried about my longboard, because there is only a week of school left, and yet I still haven't even drilled by truck holes yet.
Today I put trucks on my longboard during 1st period and snack, and when I tested its straightness on the tape line on the hallway, it went pretty straight, with only about 4 inches of deviation from the centerline. During 5th period, we managed to get basically all of the frame for the smaller storage unit finished.
Today we didn't get as much done with the storage shelf as we had hoped because we had broken all of the Philips head driver bits. However, we still managed to get the bottom completed, as well as most of the top. We only have about 10 pieces of 2 by 4 left to assemble. After school, I went to OSH and bought a set of 10 bits. Hopefully, that will be enough to, at the very least, last us through the storage unit build.
Today I burned my hand during Design while working on a project. I was working on the storage unit during snack and lunch as well as 5th period, and so we managed to nearly complete the unit. All that are left is about 5 parts and then the plywood dividers.
